Hi, I'm Nancy Foreman, Certified Baby Sleep Consultant and founder of Teach Sleep

Welcome,  I'm so glad you're here! I'm Nancy - primary teacher of 12 years, mum to Iris, 3, and Olive, 1, and a certified baby and toddler sleep consultant.

In my roles as both teacher and mother, I have seen first hand how important sleep is for the psychological, social and emotional well-being of our little ones. When I became a parent myself, I was inspired by friends' stories (both good and bad!) and determined not to let a lack of sleep ruin my life. With both of my own children I followed a gentle routine from 6 weeks old and started encouraging long stretches of sleep from 9-12 weeks, with both babies sleeping consistently through the night at 5-6 months. I believe passionately that you do not have to endure endless sleepless nights alongside parenthood, nor do you have to follow a strict 'sleep training' regime whereby you listen to hours of crying. I am here to support you in finding simple, evidence-based and practical solutions to your baby's sleep, using an optimal routine and gentle settling methods to teach your little one healthy sleep habits from the start!

I am passionate about all things babies and sleep and was inspired to become a qualified sleep consultant in early 2023 so that I could help other parents find solutions to their baby's sleep problems. I completed my OCN Level 5 Sleep Practitioner training and have since helped transform sleep for families all over the world. I help parents struggling with sleep find simple, kind and effective ways to get their little ones sleeping better, looking at the bigger picture and setting realistic goals to suit the whole family.

If you’re thinking about hiring Nancy to help you with your baby’s sleep - just do it. She has changed my life and I can’t thank her enough. My 6 month old was reliant on breastfeeding and co sleeping to sleep and would sometimes have to stay latched to sleep any length of time. She was waking 8-10 times a night and rarely had decent naps in the day. I was on my knees with tiredness and struggling to cope.
With Nancy’s guidance our sleep situation has completely transformed - our baby now sleeps in her cot in her own room, only waking 2-3 times overnight and has regular reliable naps including almost 2hrs every lunch time.

I contacted Nancy just before my baby reached 10 months old as she was still waking frequently during the night, sometimes for up to 3 hours and often ending up in our bed. There was no hope in sight for us ever getting a good nights sleep again. However… Nancy stayed with us for 24 hours and just a few nights later, our baby slept for 12.5 hours straight in her own cot!!! Nancy was so so lovely and came with a huge wealth of experience and advice. We absolutely loved working with Nancy 😁!
Last summer, we were  just 'making it through' with our youngest's sleep being all over the place.
September came, with both of us back at work and our 9 month old starting nursery soon we knew we had to change something to get her sleep more consistent. At this point, she was napping for around 20-30 mins around 3 times a day and then falling asleep at her highchair in dinner. Then overnight she woke around 3-5 times, sometimes for long stretches, had multiple bottles and boob and was soaking through her clothes.
From the initial call she was really helpful by answering questions and pointing out all of the positive changes we'd made. Nancy met us exactly where we were in our journey and got to know us and the kind of approach we were comfortable with. She gave us a thorough, tailored plan and worked with us when things needed adapting.
Throughout our two weeks support she not only gave us great tips but constantly boosted our confidence in what we were doing which has given us the confidence to navigate our daughter's sleep on our own.
Our daughter (10.5months) now enjoys a lovely bedtime routine, happily self-soothes at every sleep, sleeps through consistently for around 11-12 hours at night and has 2 consistent 1-1.5hr naps every day.
